The MIL-PRF-38534 Class K certifications of our Marlborough, Massachusetts and Great Yarmouth, UK facilities, as well as our ESA 5010 Milton Keynes, UK facility provide evidence that Spectrum Control can satisfy the most stringent quality assurance requirements demanded by the worlds' tier-one space contractors.

Manufacturers of devices meeting MIL-PRF 38534 Class K requirements are fully certified and qualified in accordance with standards pertaining to inspection flow, the screening flow, conformance inspection and periodic inspection flow, in addition to many other conformance process inspection items. Class K devices shall be also specified over the temperature range of -55°C to +125°C or as specified in the device specification.

In addition, we are certified MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750, and ESA/SCC.

Quality Assurance Levels

MIL-PRF-38534 has five quality assurance levels which, listed from highest to lowest, are:

  • Class K - Highest reliability level, intended for space
  • Class H - Standard Military Quality Level
  • Class G - Lowered confidence version of the Military quality level
  • Class E - Devices based on class K, H or G with exceptions to the class requirments.
  • Class D - Vendor Specified Quality Level
  • Establishes performance requirements for hybrid microcircuits (hybrid integrated circuit), Multi-Chip Modules (MCM) and, similar products
  • Establishes verification and validation requirements to ensure that products meet the applicable performance requirements.
  • Allows Spectrum Control the flexibility to implement best commercial practices while still providing a quality product which meets performance needs.
