Band Reject Filter Eliminates AWS Interference at ENG-RO Sites

ORLANDO, FL and MONTREAL (IMS2012: Booth #1306)   — June 19, 2012 — API Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:ATNY) (“API” or the “Company”), a trusted provider of RF/microwave, microelectronics, and security solutions for critical and high-reliability applications, announced today it is now taking orders for the CMD719 band reject filter designed to eliminate Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) interference of electronic news gathering receive only (ENG-RO) sites. The CMN719 will be on display at Booth #1306 during the IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS2012) taking place now through June 21 at the Palais des Congrès in Montreal.

The CMN719 Band Reject Filter eliminates brute force overload (BFO) interference of ENG-RO sites caused by AWS operators transmitting at 2110.6-2121.5 MHz.  The CMN719 is particularly critical to the preservation and   operation of TV BAS Channel A7 (2097.5-2109.5 MHz).

The CMN719 attenuates AWS frequencies 2110.6-2121.5 MHz by 60 dB minimum while pasing BAS Channels A1-A7 (2025.5 - 2109.5 MHz) with a specified 1.60 dB maximum insertion loss.  Typical worst case insertion loss of 1.50 dB occurs at the extreme band edge of Channel A7 at 2109.5 MHz.  CMN719’s installed in the field have shown that the filter’s group delay have not degraded  digital ENG signals.

The CMN719 is configured with a 19” 2U rack mount panel.  Connectors are Type - N Female.

New 1.0 GHz to 18.0 GHz Diplexer/Bias-T when RF Modulation or DC Injection is a Must

(NASDAQ:ATNY) (“API” or the “Company”), a provider of electronic systems, subsystems, RF, and secure systems for defense, aerospace, and commercial applications, announced today the availability of its new CMD837, 1.0 GHz to 18.0 GHz highpass / lowpass diplexer, Bias-T from its CMT Filters product group. The CMD837, 1.0 GHz to 18.0 GHz Bias-T, is an ideal solution when RF modulation or DC injection is essential.

The CMD837 1.0 GHz to 18.0 GHz highpass / lowpass diplexer is an ideal solution when RF modulation or DC injection is essential. Each of the channels is comprised of a seven section Chebychev filter. The individual filters are diplexed to provide for a common port that passes DC to 500 MHz and 1.0 GHz to 18.0 GHz. The low frequency port allows for injection of a DC to 500 MHz bias, or control signal onto the 1.0 GHz to 18.0 GHz band. The diplexing function of the filter provides -30 dB of isolation channel to channel.
