RF Signal Extender Enhances Range of Classified Wireless Communications

RONKONKOMA, NY — December 2, 2010 — API Technologies Corp., a provider of highly engineered products and services to the global defense sector, announces the availability of the API™ RF Signal Extender. This new product extends the range of Harris Corporation’s SecNet 11® wireless bridge, used by the U.S. military to establish Secure Wireless Local Area Networks (SWLANs). First introduced in 2002, SecNet 11 is an approved standard for both classified and unclassified communication by the National Security Agency and Department of Defense (DoD) agencies.

The API RF Signal Extender boosts the range of SWLANs from 700 meters to up to 5 miles.

API Technologies’ Hawki Video Aiming Device Aids Arson Explosives Detail of LA Sheriff Department in Rendering Object Safe

RONKONKOMA, NY — NOVEMBER 29, 2010 — The Hawki™ Video Aiming Device engineered and manufactured by API Technologies Corp., a provider of highly engineered products and services to the global defense sector, recently played a critical role in rendering an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The IED was discovered underneath a car parked in Lancaster, California at around 10 am on September 23, 2010.

One of the five teams from the Arson Explosives Detail of the Los Angeles Sheriff Department responded to the scene and deployed their Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robot equipped with the Hawki Video Aiming Device. In situations like this, it is standard procedure for the team to render the IED safe with a disrupter from the robot. Accuracy of the shot is critical to the overall success and safety of the mission.

API Technologies Receives $1.7 Million Order from Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems

RONKONKOMA, NY - (PRNewswire) - October 13, 2010 - API Technologies Corp. (OTC.BB: ATNY), a provider of highly engineered products and services to the global defense sector, announces that it has received a new, $1.7 million order from Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) of El Segundo, California.  API will supply Raytheon SAS with engineering services and assemblies for the radar system incorporated within the Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey aircraft. The order will be will be designed and manufactured in the Company’s Pennsylvania facility.
